Utica, New York (March 2026) – Center for Family Life and Recovery, Inc. (CFLR) will host its Annual Awareness Breakfast on Tuesday, April 14 from 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM at Hart’s Hill Inn in Whitesboro, bringing together community members, business leaders, and advocates committed to strengthening prevention and recovery efforts across the Mohawk Valley. The event will honor individuals whose leadership and compassion are making a lasting impact in supporting those facing mental health and substance use challenges.
The 2026 Amethyst Award will be presented to Brian Freeman in recognition of his decades of mentorship and advocacy within the recovery community. The 2026 Paul Dunn Advocacy Award will be presented to Robert Green, a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) and New York Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS) whose work helps individuals build resilience and connect to meaningful supports. “These award recipients represent the very best of what recovery and advocacy look like in our community,” said Cassandra Sheets, CEO of the Center for Family Life and Recovery. “Their commitment reminds us that real change happens when people come together with purpose. This breakfast is more than an event — it is a call for our community to step forward, support one another, and be part of the solution.”
Held during Alcohol Awareness Month, the breakfast highlights the urgent need for community collaboration to expand prevention initiatives and recovery support. Seating is limited and tickets are expected to sell quickly.
