HERKIMER, NY, September 2, 2026 — Herkimer County Community College will be
hosting an American Red Cross blood drive on Thursday, September 17, from 9:30 a.m.
to 2:30 p.m. in Alumni Hall, located in the Robert McLaughlin College Center.
Community members are encouraged to schedule an appointment and help support a
successful blood drive. The drive has a hospital commitment of 17 units, and there is a
particular need for type O blood. Filling the appointment schedule helps account for
potential cancellations and no-shows.
According to the American Red Cross, donating is a safe process, and healthy
individuals should schedule a donation to help maintain the nation’s blood supply; one
blood donation can help up to three people in need.
