FILM SERIES: BROOKLYN

COMIC BOOK WORKSHOP
for Grades 6th – 12th, and Beyond
with Michael Peckham
This class will help give students the foundations of building their own comic book. Our instructor, an experienced comic book artist himself, will lead the class through a series of steps to create an idea, build characters, compose ideas, and assemble a comic book story.
Wednesdays: 5:00 – 6:00 pm

*All materials included in this amazing price!
Each student will leave with their own copy of a printed comic book that collects all of their work.
GENTLE YOGA
with Debbie Andrejewski

This class gently streams together yoga postures. It is geared toward students who wish to move at a slower, more controlled pace. No Yoga experience is required. Gentle Yoga provides an effective way to softly wake the body up and stretch yourself out.

This Low Impact Zumba class features exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before participants know it, they’re getting fit and their energy levels are soaring. Participants enjoy the benefits of safe and effective strength training in a party atmosphere.

This KAC COFFEEHOUSE concert sponsored by BIG APPLE MUSIC, will be an intriguing journey through the multifaceted artistic world of Beppe Gambetta, a synthesis of the itineraries of his life, spent between his birth-place Genova, Europe and the United States where he currently resides.

LANDSCAPE PAINTING
with Mario Colon
This course is designed to instruct students in techniques of representational painting, making use of rule pastoral scenes and urban city-scapes. As the weather permits, students will have the opportunity to challenge themselves with painting on-site in a plain air setting, dealing with changing weather conditions, terrain, and for the urban painter, interruptions from pedestrians. On days the weather is not agreeable, instructor will have a lesson planned for the studio.
Students will have the choice of medium to be instructed in. Students may either bring their own materials, from the materials list or have the option of the KAC supplying them at an additional cost.

OLD MASTER PAINTING in OIL
with Mario Colon
Students learn painting techniques by reverse engineering favorite masterworks in order to acquire the skill sets used to create the work by the original artist.
The student finds through reverse engineering of master paintings a diverse set of skills such as the understanding of linear perspective, anatomy, composition, light and color theory, and a wide array of sub-disciplines within the tradition of Western art.
Students may either bring their own materials, from the materials list, or have the option of the KAC supplying them at an additional cost.
