Hamilton College will host William Hill, Retired foreign service officer…

Clinton, N.Y. – Hamilton College will host William Hill, a retired foreign service officer; former ambassador; and head of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Mission to Moldova. He will discuss the Russia-Ukraine War and its implications in today’s world of global disorder on Monday, April 20, at 7:30 p.m., in the college’s Kirner-Johnson Building’s Bradford Auditorium.

William Hill

Hill is renowned for his expertise on Russia, the former Soviet Union, and East-West relations. He served two terms as ambassador and head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova in two terms between 1999 and 2006. During his tenure, he played a key role in facilitating the withdrawal of Russian forces, arms, and ammunition from Moldova.

His extensive foreign service career includes significant positions in Moscow, Leningrad, Belgrade, Vienna, and Dhaka. In Washington, D.C., Hill held several influential positions related to East-West relations, political-military affairs, and intelligence analysis for organizations including the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, Eastern Europe at the State Department, European Division of the Voice of America, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
