Hamilton College Presents Faculty Jazz Concert with “Doc” Woods on April 1

Clinton, NY –The Hamilton College Department of Music presents a free concert with “Doc” Woods on Friday, April 1 at 7:30 pm in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center.

“Doc” Woods kicks off Jazz Appreciation Month with a nine-movement suite of band-new music.

Written in the last two years, Woods says his aim was to have the music create grooves and energy that is digestible on a single hearing. The melody, texture, and tempo tells a fun tale and provides soloists with excellent opportunities to showcase their talents. Performers include “Doc” Woods, composition and bass; Jeff Stockham, trumpet; Joe Carello, saxophone; Angelo Candela, trombone; Joe Handy, guitar; Tom Witkowski, piano; and Josh Dekaney, drums.

This concert is free and open to the public. All patrons must be vaccinated against COVID-19. For more information, call the box office at (315) 859-4331 or visit www.hamilton.edu.
