Hamilton College Presents Charles Richard-Hamelin, Piano

Clinton, NY—Canadian pianist Charles Richard-Hamelin presents a solo recital on Sunday, April 10 at 3:00 pm in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center. The program includes Franck’s Prélude, Aria et Final op. 23, Ravel’s Le Tombeau de Couperin, and Chopin’s 24 Préludes op. 28. 

Charles Richard-Hamelin stands out today as one of the most important musicians of his generation. He is the recipient of the Order of Arts and Letters of Quebec and the prestigious Career Development Award offered by the Women’s Musical Club of Toronto. In 2015, he received the Silver Medal at the International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw and the Krystian Zimerman Prize for best performance of a sonata. He also won Second Prize at the Concours musical international de Montréal and Third Prize and the Special Prize for best performance of a Beethoven sonata at the Seoul International Music Competition, in South Korea.
