Griffo named Walter Mahoney State Senator of the Year
Presented by the New York State Young Republicans, the award recognizes Sen. Griffo’s leadership, ability and commitment to helping hardworking New Yorkers and their families
The campaign to reelect New York State Sen. Joseph Griffo announced today that the senator is the 2024 recipient of the Walter Mahoney State Senator of the Year Award.
The annual award is presented by the New York State Young Republicans to the senator who demonstrates exceptional leadership, ability and commitment to supporting the principles of the Republican Party and improving the lives of New Yorkers and their families.
“Sen. Joe Griffo began his political career as a Young Republican in Oneida County and has since led a remarkable career in public service,” said Peter Giunta, chairman of the New York State Young Republicans. “Like the namesake of our award, Sen. Walter J. Mahoney, Sen. Griffo has been a strong representative for his constituents and an inspiration to young leaders across the state aspiring to enter public service. This award honors the legacy of Sen. Mahoney, a founding member and president of the New York State Young Republicans, the oldest and largest Young Republican state federation in the country. Sen. Griffo has worked tirelessly on behalf of his constituents, including veterans, seniors, small business owners, farmers, first responders and hardworking taxpayers and families in the 53rd Senate District and across the state.
Throughout his time in public service, Sen. Griffo has introduced, supported and advocated for initiatives, legislation and policies that will make the state more affordable, enhance public safety and education, grow and strengthen communities and the economy, institute needed government reforms and ensure transportation and infrastructure investment and parity.
