New York State Sen. Joseph Griffo, R-C-Rome, and Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, D-Rotterdam, released the following statement today regarding the governor supporting their proposal that would require candidates for governor and lieutenant governor to run together as a ticket:
“We’re pleased that the governor has chosen to adopt our proposal to require candidates for governor and lieutenant governor to run together on a unified primary ticket. While this type of good government reform deserves a full public discussion outside the budget process, this change will help ensure voters elect leadership teams that share a common vision and are prepared to govern effectively.”
