Go Fund Me Donations Needed For Paralyzed Youth

By Mark Ziobro

Gavin Maloney

Donations are needed through the online funding program ‘Go Fund Me’ for Gavin Maloney, a 25-year-old young man paralyzed recently in a diving accident on Oneida Lake.

Gavin sustained injuries to his C5, C6, and C7 vertebrae, leading to paralysis below the waist.

Gavin was born and raised in the heart of Central New York (CNY).  He is a fresh graduate of Alfred State college with an Associate’s Degree in Masonry. During summers, Gavin works as a mason and a landscaper all across CNY and in the winter he spends time working on the slopes of  Woods Valley Ski Resort running the lifts and offering a helping hand to children and beginners.

Gavin’s father Joseph works at Rome Memorial Hospital and part-time with this writer at Kohl’s in New Hartford. The Maloney family is struggling to cover the expense of Gavin’s extensive surgeries, totaling $500,000+.

If you have money to spare, please consider donating to the Maloney family to help with paying for Gavin’s surgeries and related costs. You can donate via Go Fund Me at https://www.gofundme.com/help-gavin-maloney-walk-again.
