MVCC to offer free training to high-risk construction and manufacturing workers

Mohawk Valley Community College, through a grant from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), is offering free training to high-risk workers in the construction and manufacturing industries in the Mohawk Valley until Sept. 30, 2019.

The class, “Walking Working Surfaces in Construction and General Industries,” is a three-hour training that can be provided on-site and at flexible times to accommodate various shifts. It includes the following with regard to walking working surfaces: slips, trips, and falls; personal fall protection; ladder safety systems; and fall arrest systems. The instructor, Dominick Timpano, is a senior safety and health consultant and former safety inspector for the New York State Department of Labor with more than three decades of experience in occupational/workforce safety and health.
