May 20th Event for Utica Passport and Franklin Square Film Series
(Utica, NY) – On Saturday May 20th Made In Utica is kicking off two of their summer milestones, the Utica Passport and the Franklin Square Film Series, in an event at the Franklin Square Alley in Downtown Utica.
The Utica Passport Release Party will take place from 4 to 8pm with live art, music, games, food from Bite Bakery and Cafe and drinks from Woodland Farm Brewery. This will be an opportunity to pick up pre-orders and purchase the 2017 Utica Passport. The Passport is a limited-edition book featuring some of the area’s finest local businesses offering unique specials to the Passport holder. It was developed in May 2014 by Made In Utica to encourage exploration of the city’s small businesses. The 2017 Passport has 15 deals, is capped at 500 copies and runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It is $10 and available for pre-order at madeinutica.com.
Immediately following the Utica Passport Release Party is the premiere of the 2017 Franklin Square Film Series at 8pm in the same location. The Film Series is a partnership between Made In Utica and to provide family-friendly and free movies outside in Franklin Square Alley. The 2017 Series theme is “Films Under the Stars” and is held once a month from May to September. Refreshments will be for sale. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own seating and come early for prime viewing location and local previews.
2017 Franklin Square Film Series “Films Under The Stars” Schedule:
5/20/17 – Back to the Future
6/17/17 – E.T.
7/22/17 – Independence Day
8/19/17 – WALL-E

With this event Made In Utica aims to continue their success from 2016 in bringing the community Downtown. “We had a great summer of activities last year so we’re really trying to step it up,” said Made In Utica member Katie Reilly. “We jammed as much as we could into this Kickoff event, with everything you’d want to start summer in Utica.” Reilly encourages everyone to stop by the Franklin Square Alley on May 20th and see what the group has to offer.
