For The Good, Inc. Announces Rescheduling of Juneteenth First Annual Soul Food Benefit Due to Venue Emergency

UTICA, NY — For The Good, Inc. has announced that its Juneteenth First Annual Soul Food Benefit will be rescheduled due to circumstances beyond the organization’s control.

A water main break has made the planned venue unserviceable at this time. As a result, For The Good, Inc. is postponing the benefit and will announce a new date and location once arrangements are finalized.

The event was scheduled to feature the Doc Woods Ensemble and Dr. Jan DeAmicis, who was set to present on “Exploring the Black Archives,” highlighting history, culture, and the importance of preserving African American stories and community memory.

“While we are disappointed that we must reschedule, the safety and comfort of our guests, supporters, and community members must come first,” said Cassandra Harris Lockwood, Executive Director of For The Good, Inc. “We are grateful for the community’s understanding and look forward to celebrating together at a later date.”

The Juneteenth First Annual Soul Food Benefit was created to bring the community together in celebration of freedom, culture, fellowship, history, and service. For The Good, Inc. remains committed to hosting the event and honoring the spirit of Juneteenth at a later date.

Community members are encouraged to continue supporting and enjoying the many Juneteenth events scheduled throughout the weekend. These gatherings provide important opportunities to celebrate freedom, history, culture, family, and community across the Mohawk Valley.

For The Good, Inc. thanks its supporters, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners for their patience and continued commitment. Updated event information will be shared as soon as it becomes available.
