UTICA, N.Y. – The Mohawk Valley Latino Association (MVLA) and Acanea
are thrilled to announce the inaugural Utica Walkathon at the Park, a
week-long celebration of community wellness taking place August 16–23,
2025 at F.T. Proctor Park.
The event aims to inspire healthy lifestyles, foster youth leadership,
and unite the community through walking circuits, wellness activities,
and family-friendly programming.
“This is more than just a walk,” said Pilar Lombana, Program
Director of the Utica Walkathon and Founder of Acanea. “It’s a space
where families, individuals, and especially our youth can develop
leadership skills, connect with one another, and make healthy living a
shared goal.”
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

Opening Weekend: Saturday & Sunday, Aug. 16–17, 8 AM–2 PM
*
Weekday Walks: Monday–Friday, Aug. 18–22, 5 PM–7 PM
*
Grand Finale & Raffle Celebration: Saturday, Aug. 23, 8 AM–1 PM
Participants will receive a Park Passport to track their walks and
wellness activities. Completing at least three walking days earns raffle
tickets for prizes including an iPad and Apple Watch. Completing five
walking days earns both raffle tickets and a Certificate of Completion.

The Utica Walkathon is free and open to all ages. Organizers encourage
participants to pre-register to secure their Wellness Passport and
maximize their chances of winning prizes.
