Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today updated New Yorkers on the state’s progress during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Fifteen additional cases of the UK variant were identified in New York State. To date, there are 59 known cases of the variant in New York State in the following counties: Jefferson, Niagara, Allegany, Tompkins, New York City, Westchester, Nassau, Suffolk, Saratoga, Ulster, Onondaga, Warren and Essex Counties.
“The numbers are continuing to decline after our post-holiday surge, but we are not out of the woods yet,” Governor Cuomo said. “We’ve flattened the curve for a second time because New Yorkers rallied and pulled together to change their behavior. As we work to get shots in arms as fast as humanly possible, it is now more important than ever that we keep this downward trend going and continue to wear a mask and socially distance.”
