There were some heated moments at the Fayetteville-Manlius School Board meeting Monday night regarding the mask mandate in schools.
A number of parents from the Fayetteville-Manlius school district showed up to a school board meeting without masks as a sign of protest.
When given their chance to speak, those parents continued to make their opposition to the mandate known, calling for it to be dropped. They briefly spoke, before a police officer stepped in.
“I need to know are masks required to be in the building right now?” asked one parent.
“Yes,” responded a board member. “We are not going to continue this meeting until everybody is either wearing a mask or leaving.”
Once those not wearing masks left, the rest of the meeting finished without issue.
