Elmira Police are investigating three separate shootings that took place in less than three hours overnight Friday.
The first happened at a house on Pomeroy Place just before 11 p.m. Friday.
When officers arrived, they say a resident indicated the shooter already left the area. After investigating, officers determined the suspect knocked on the front door, and when the owner asked who it was, several shots were fired into the door. They say bullets hit several places inside, but luckily no one was injured.
The second shooting happened at a house on East Warren Street just before 1 a.m. Saturday.
Police say residents woke up to the sound of gunfire, and called for help. When officers arrived, they say they found evidence the home had been struck by bullets. Thankfully, no one was injured in this incident either.
The final shooting happened on Euclid Avenue just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
Officers say the resident hosted a house party with about 25 to 30 people. They say at some point during the party, the lights went out and shots were fired. When officers arrived on scene, they found a person in the driveway who had been shot. That person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, and is now in serious but stable condition. Shortly after this, officers were notified two other people had been brought to the hospital with injuries. They are currently not cooperating with police.
Police say all of these shootings appear to be intentional and targeted but investigations remain ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Elmira Police.
