Earth Day Celebration at Utica Zoo

Utica Zoo’s annual Earth Day event presented by Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority is Saturday, April 29th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Utica Zoo. Gates open at 10 a.m. Drop off your old documents at the free CONFIDATA paper shredder in the zoo’s parking lot. The first 50 families will receive a free pine sapling for planting. At 2 p.m. there will be an educational presentation on plant families entitled “Seeing Flowers” by local author Teri Dunn Chace. Families and children can participate in animal meet & greets, activities, and games. Meet Smokey Bear and learn about protecting local forest habitats. Voss’ food and drink stand will be open from 11 a.m. to 4:30 pm serving hotdogs, hamburgers, and local favorites. Voss’ is cash only, ATM on site.

Earth Day is a regular admission event. Utica Zoo members receive free admission. Utica Zoo membership information can be found at uticazoo.org/membership.Admission Prices: 2 & under: Free, Ages 3 to 12: $4.75, Ages 13 to 61: $8.00, Seniors 62+ / Military / College

Students with ID: $6.75.
