
Down Payment and Rehabilitation Assistance Funding Now Available
Utica, NY – (HOC) is proud to announce the availability of their new Down Payment AND Rehabilitation Assistance Program for Oneida and Madison County.
The Down Payment and Rehabilitation Assistance Program is for First Time Homebuyers purchasing in Oneida or Madison County excluding the cities of Utica and Rome. Buyers can apply for a forgivable grant of $24,750 to assist with the down payment and rehabilitation work.
The total grant amount is broken down into two parts. $14,750 must be used for rehabilitation/repair of the purchased home which will address structural defects and health and safety issues first. $10,000 of the grant can be used for down payment and/or closing costs.
Total household income must be at or below 112% of the Area’s Median Income set by HUD.

Homebuyer Education is a requirement of the program and classes fill up fast so be sure to register by visiting www.UNHS.org and clicking the banner at the top of the page. Applications will only be provided to those that complete Homebuyer Education. Grants can be combined with First Home Club and other assistance programs as well!
