A Women’s Empowerment Event called “East Coast Divas in the Jungle” was held at Hart’s Hill Inn on Saturday, April 28, 2018, host- Tamie Griffin (West Coast) and co-hosted by Tyra McKinsey (East Coast), was a huge success.
Created by Tamie Griffin, who has been hosting these events in California for the past eight (8) years came together with Tyra to bring the Jungle to the East Coast. The jungle theme inspired animal print attire and almost everyone wore their ferocious best.
The event’s theme and purpose was created to emphasize the importance of Divas empowering other Divas. The program started with a motivational speaker, supporting local businesses and most importantly supporting and encouraging one another.
As someone who had the opportunity of experiencing the event, I especially enjoyed the motivational speakers. As a member of the audience, this writer realized that sometimes in life you may find yourself amongst other women that do not share a common purpose with you or even those who may not be interested in your personal life success. This event expelled all that.
Divas in the Jungle provided positive energy, support, and love for one another. It alerted all there to the importance of why women are a united front and should always support each other.
This writer truly enjoyed the atmosphere this event provided; from the vendors to speakers. I, myself, purchased two books – a motivational book (The Choice and Commitment) by author Mel B. Cook, from Baltimore, Maryland to an inspirational book (Out of the Ashes) by LaKecia (Lanier) McKinsey.
Of course, I had to purchase a handcrafted, Diva wine glass made by the Tyra McKinsey. Other Divas pampered themselves by indulging in things like getting their hair done to eyelashes, make-up, and body beads to tattoos! All the vendors were great.
This was truly an amazing event! Thank you, Tamie and Tyra for your collaborative efforts. I look forward to many more East Coast Divas in the Jungle events.
