State Fair Women’s Day Breakfast
Syracuse, NY – In a heartwarming celebration of leadership, innovation, and dedication to agriculture, Terri
DiNitto of DiNitto Farms in Marcy, New York, was honored with the esteemed Industry Legend Award during the
Women’s Day Breakfast at The Great New York State Fair.
This highly respected award recognizes women who have devoted more than two decades to the agricultural
industry, making a lasting impact through their leadership, mentorship, and advocacy. Terri was nominated for this
recognition by New York State Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon, who praised her extraordinary
contributions to agriculture, education, and community enrichment.

“Terri DiNitto is not only a visionary farmer but also a mentor, educator, and an inspiration to countless
individuals,” said Assemblywoman Buttenschon. “Her commitment to agriculture extends beyond the
farm, touching the lives of young people, families, and lawmakers across the Mohawk Valley. She
embodies everything this award represents: strength, resilience, and a true love for fostering future
generations of agricultural leaders.”
Terri has dedicated over 20 years to transforming DiNitto Farms into more than just a working farm, it has become
a vibrant educational hub for the community. She has opened her doors to thousands of children and families,
giving them firsthand experiences in dairy farming, sustainability, food production, and innovative agricultural
technologies. She is also known for hosting the beloved Annual Farm Fest, a cherished tradition that sparks
curiosity and excitement for agriculture in young minds across Oneida County.

Her impact, however, goes even further. Terri has tirelessly educated New York State lawmakers through the
annual Mohawk Valley Farm Tour, that is hosted by Assemblywoman Buttenschon, which she helps coordinate
and host. Her ability to share firsthand knowledge and authentic stories about farming has influenced key
agricultural policies and inspired legislators to better understand the needs of rural communities.
Beyond her work on the farm, Terri is a breast cancer survivor who uses her personal journey to inspire hope,
perseverance, and strength in others. Her openness and resilience have left a powerful mark on the community,
particularly children who see her as a role model for courage and determination.

During the breakfast ceremony, which included Commissioner Richard A. Ball presenting the Leaving It Better
Award, Terri was honored alongside other outstanding women in agriculture. Guests celebrated her remarkable
career while enjoying reflections on her life’s work in educating and inspiring others.
In accepting the award, Terri humbly expressed her gratitude:
