Cooperative Extension of Oswego County Master Gardeners at County Fair

The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County Master Gardener Volunteer Program (MGV
Program) will be doing a variety of garden programing at the Oswego County fairgrounds in Agriculture
Building #10. Come listen to a variety of topics including top five garden invaders; gardening in a
changing world; growing resilient polyculture gardens; from dirt to health soil; feeding yourself, family,
and community; tree fruits for beginners; and vegetable gardening for beginners. Master Gardeners will
also be doing Story Time for children and young families each day of the fair. Families will have an
opportunity to listen to garden and farm-related stories being read and discussed. Please go to the
Oswego County Fair website at oswegocountyfair.com and download the free copy of the 2026 Oswego
County Fair Trifold to learn about the dates and times of these educational programs.
Master Gardeners will also be judging this year’s horticultural plant exhibit for adults. If interested in
submitting a plant entry, please go to the Oswego County Fair website for more information. All plant
entries must be submitted to Agriculture Building #10 before 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1st. For
additional questions, please contact Sue Bristol, Superintendent of the County Fair Agriculture Building
at 315-382-4346 (text only).
