Washington D.C.—Today, Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (NY-22) released the following statement in response to Former FBI Director James Comey’s testimony in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee:
“President Trump’s conversation with the Former FBI Director Comey was not ideal based on the accounts we heard today from Comey during the testimony. However, Comey did confirm that President Trump was not the subject of the investigation, there was no obstruction of justice by the President and that the President urged him to continue to investigate any meddling by the Russians into the 2016 Presidential Election. It is vitally important that we get to the bottom of Russian efforts to interfere in the election to prevent this from happening in the future. I am certain that we can all agree on this issue.”
