We’re honoring one of our most beloved species with a full day of themed activities, keeper talks, family friendly paint & sip, merchandise discounts, and even an outdoor movie night. Whether you’re a longtime red panda fan or discovering them for the first time, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Event Highlights
Red Panda Naming Contest-Raffle and Voting
Each guest receives one raffle ticket with zoo admission. Submit your ticket at the Red Panda Ranger Station or at the admissions desk for a chance to help name our red pandas. Starting now, guests can also vote for the baby red panda names on the Utica Zoo website! You can cast your vote, make your voice heard, and be part of this special moment! Family-Friendly Paint & Sip
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Get creative at a red panda-themed paint and sip event, perfect for all ages and skill levels. Tickets are $50 and include all supplies, snacks, food, and drink. Just bring your creativity.
Red Panda Ranger Station
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Stop by to learn fascinating facts about red pandas and how you can help protect them. This is also the designated location to submit your raffle tickets for the Red Panda Naming Contest.
Keeper Talk at the Red Panda Exhibit

Meet one of our expert animal keepers and learn what it takes to care for red pandas. Discover their behaviors, diet, and conservation status.
Cinematic Safari- Outdoor Movie Night: “Turning Red”
6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Wrap up the day with a special outdoor screening of Disney-Pixar’s Turning Red. Bring your blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy a movie under the stars.
