Christmas at Utica City Hall

Christmas at Utica City Hall is free to the public, and is attended annually by hundreds who come from throughout central New York.

Christmas at Utica City Hall is an event that captures the traditions and atmosphere of an old fashioned Christmas featuring live entertainment visits with Santa Claus, FREE food, and hot chocolate at Utica City Hall

This year Christmas at City Hall will be bigger than ever. Santa arrives at City Hall escorted by the UPD & Fire Department, the Knights Templar from Utica Lodge #3 , Rudolph and friends. The evening starts with Christmas Carols and the lighting of the City Hall Christmas Tree.

Everyone is invited to come into City Hall for an evening of entertainment, refreshments, children’s activities, and of course visits with Santa.   Every child who visits with Santa will receive a small gift, courtesy of Wilcor International.  You are encouraged to take photos with Santa.

New this year! While the children are waiting in line to visit with Santa, they can have their faces painted for FREE and stop by at the Purrs and Whiskers – Kitten Meet & Greet table to enjoy time with the kittens.

In the main lobby children can enjoy a visit with the Mobile Children’s Museum featuring hands on activities with various building materials, pogos, stilts and hula hoops, as well as the famous wobble chair and more! Costumed characters will be stationed throughout for more photo opportunities. For your entertainment the Edelweiss Schuplattlers Dancers will perform German/Austrian Christmas Dances and will invite members of the audience to join them.

Volunteers from the Salvation Army Utica Corps will be handing out FREE hot chocolate along with a variety of cookies and other snacks. Families should also take a little time to enjoy an old fashion wagon ride around downtown.

This is a totally FREE event for families made possible by donations from businesses and individuals.  The night is filled with FREE entertainment, FREE refreshments and the joy of Christmas.

In the spirit of Christmas giving Mayor Galime asks everyone to consider bringing a donation of an unwrapped present for ‘Toys for Tots’.
