Utica, NY (January 2026) — The Center for Family Life and Recovery (CFLR) is proud to announce its ongoing commitment to improving community health and well-being through the vital role of its Compeer program. With a primary focus on prevention, education and outreach, CFLR is dedicated to equipping individuals and communities with the tools and knowledge needed to address and prevent various health and wellness challenges.
National Mentoring Month highlights the importance of mentoring in fostering connection, resilience, and personal growth. It is a time to recognize how supportive relationships can reduce isolation and help individuals thrive. Compeer is a nationally recognized mentoring program that matches trained community volunteers with individuals seeking meaningful social connection. Through one-to-one friendships, Compeer promotes mental wellness, confidence, and a stronger sense of belonging.
In recognition of National Mentoring Month, CFLR celebrates the powerful role mentoring plays in strengthening individuals, families, and communities. Leading this important work is D’Mila Bradley, our Community Educator and Lead Youth Compeer Prevention Specialist. D’Mila expresses, “My goal is to be a caring, consistent adult presence who helps your child navigate challenges and celebrate their strengths.” D’Mila meets regularly with students to engage in fun, supportive activities designed to build self-esteem and confidence, strengthen peer connections and social skills, encourage positive problem-solving, and provide a safe space for children to express themselves and feel supported.
Through D’Mila’s leadership, Compeer continues to transform lives by turning simple human connection into lasting impact. For more information on CFLR’s Prevention programs, visit
