Central New York Roller Derby (CNYRD) will be hosting the 3rd Annual Siege of CNY Tournament. We are very excited to announce this international event being held at the John F. Kennedy Civic Arena in Rome. The weekend kicks off on Friday, April 21 with a free Central NY Junior Roller Derby exhibition scrimmage feature local youth roller derby players as well as other players from around the Northeast US.
The weekend will feature 12 women’s roller derby games starting at 9am each day. Visiting teams will be traveling from Birmingham (England), Hamilton (Ontario, Canada), Mount Vernon (Ohio), as well as NY teams from Rochester, Schenectady, and Syracuse. CNYRD will also be hosting officials, announcers, and volunteers from all over the US, Canada, and England.
Adding to all the roller derby action, there will be various vendors and food trucks on site all weekend. Bring a chair and check out some great international roller derby!

ABOUT CENTRAL NEW YORK ROLLER DERBY
Central New York Roller Derby, Inc. (CNYRD) is a women’s sports league founded in 2007 and based in the greater Utica/Rome, NY area. As a member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), a worldwide governing body for women’s flat-track roller derby, CNYRD members have represented the CNY region in sporting events across the northeast and the mid-Atlantic United States and Canada. CNYRD has approximately 50 members; skaters make up two travel teams, the CNY All Stars, and the Wonder Brawlers, and there are many officials and volunteers associated with our league. The league seeks to foster the empowerment of females of all races, national origins, sexual orientations, ages, religious beliefs, and body types.
