UTICA – On Saturday, December 14th, from 11am to 5pm, St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church, 386 Main Street, New York Mills, will be having an Open House to celebrate its 50 years as a congregation in Utica and New York Mills. St. James welcomes the public; there will be vendors, food in fellowship hall and tours of the sanctuary.
The AME church was organized in 1969 under the leadership of the pastor, Reverend Eleanor D. Dawson, God brought St. James to New York Mills in 2011. The church held their first service there in 2012.
The mission of the AME Church is “to minister to the social, spiritual, and physical needs of all people.”
