The latest update coming from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention means millions more Canadians will be able to cross the U.S. border next month.
The White House recently announced the American side of the border would reopen to fully vaccinated Canadian residents starting Nov. 8.
U.S. Rep. Brian Higgins requested the CDC specify who falls under that consideration.
Higgins said that nearly four million Canadians — or 10% of those fully vaccinated — have received a combination of Pfizer, Moderna or AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines.
While this is not recommended in the U.S., it is increasingly common in international countries — and therefore, will be accepted when crossing the border.
The CDC clarified that although the AstraZeneca and Oxford vaccines have not been given emergency use authorization by the FDA, they have been by the World Health Organization and will also be acceptable.
