
On Monday, April 7, 2025, the Rome Police Department was dispatched to the 700 block of West Embargo Street in regards to a burglary investigation. The victim reported that numerous high value electronics were stolen from their residence sometime during the overnight hours, while they were asleep. A subsequent investigation by the Rome Police Detective Division and Patrol Division led police to a residence on North Doxtator Street. It was at that location, where police identified the suspect(s) involved and many of the stolen items were located and recovered. One suspect, identified as 19-year-old, Carnation D. Phillips of Utica, NY, was arrested and charged with Burglary in the Second Degree. Phillips was processed and transported to appear at centralized arraignment at the Oneida County Jail. The investigation into this incident is ongoing and more charges may be forwarded.
