Eight Clinton County Residents Named 2018 BlueShield Scholars-
Latham, NY – BlueShield of Northeastern New York is proud to announce that 101 scholarships totaling $25,250 were made to local high school seniors, including eight residents of Clinton County, as part of the company’s 2018 BlueShield Scholars Program.
Since the local health plan launched BlueShield Scholars in 2012, they have awarded over $175,000 to more than 700 local high school seniors who are pursuing higher education for a career in the fields of health or human sciences.
Scholarship recipients must exhibit the company’s core values of teamwork, integrity, personal responsibility, passion, excellence and respect, and are identified and nominated by their guidance counselors and administrators.
“BlueShield recognizes the important role that health education plays in the advancement of health care, and the overall wellness of our community,” said Dr. Kirk Panneton, Vice President, Regional Executive and Medical Director of BlueShield of Northeastern New York. “We’re proud to name this year’s class of BlueShield Scholars, local students, who we believe have the potential to positively impact the future health of our community.”
Clinton County awardees include Hannah Rondeau, Clarissa Chambers, Abigale Gonyo, Lydia Pivetta, Caitlin Coryer, Zachary Hall, Skye O’Connell, and Laura Morelock.
