The city of Binghamton is utilizing $8.1 million to create more affordable housing throughout the city. Binghamton Mayor Rich David announced the North Side Rehabilitation Project Tuesday.
The plan is to set up 27 units of permanent supportive housing spread across four areas in Binghamton.
David says it’s time to bring these properties new life.
“These four properties have been vacant for several years and clearly, as seen by this one, are uninhabitable, have been vandalized, are eyesores, are magnets for criminal activity,” said David.
The money comes from a mixture of state funding and the city’s American Rescue Plan Act money.
