NEW YORK — Less than a month after leaving office as mayor, Bill de Blasio says he is not running to become New York’s next governor.
He made the announcement on Twitter this morning.
I am not going to be running for Governor of New York State, but I am going to devote every fiber of my being to fighting inequality in the state of New York. pic.twitter.com/cBZ03BpO0s

De Blasio had flirted with the possibility of running in interviews over the last few months of his time in office.
Public Advocate Jumaane Williams and U.S. Representative Tom Suozzi are currently in the Democratic race against Governor Kathy Hochul.
The primary is in June.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
