WHITESBORO- The Big East Camping & Outdoor Sports Show is happening this weekend, March 22nd and 23rd , indoors at Accelerate Sports Complex, 5241 Judd Rd. Whitesboro. The show runs from 9am to 6pm Saturday and 9am to 4pm Sunday.
In its 32nd year, this show is for anyone that loves to camp, fish, boat, hike or just enjoy the great outdoors!
The Beast of the East Archery tournament returns for its sixth year. The contest showcases some of the best archery talent in the area, Money and several trophy classes will compete. More information about the archery tournament can be found on Facebook/Beast of the East Archery Shoot.
Free seminars all weekend, including Fishing Tactics and Techniques with Supernova Tackle, Creating Better Wildlife Habitats with Michael Farnham, Hunting & Working Dog Wound Care, with DogWatch of Upstate NY, Outdoor Wild Game Cooking with Stephen Wowelko, Metal Detecting: The Hunt for Treasure with Michael Parker, a presentation by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department, and a turkey calling contest.
Additionally, The Big East Gear Grab Giveaway will be giving away a prize every hour. The fish pond will also be back and there’s a kids casting contest Saturday. There will be multiple boating and RV dealers on site and other vendors include hunting and fishing guides, leather goods, campgrounds, sporting organizations, outdoor gear, fishing charters, and specialty food products.
Other highlights include axe throwing by Woodchuckers Axe Throwing, a petting zoo with Fort Rickey Discovery Zoo including goats, sheep and alpacas, and the Oneida County Sheriff Department’s boat and ATV display.
Admission is $10 for adults; seniors 55 and older and military and first responders $8; children 6-12 are $3; and children 5 and under are free.
