American Red Cross Opens Shelter in Rome

 
UTICA, NY (JULY 16, 2024) – Volunteers from the Central and Northern New York Chapter of the American Red Cross have opened a shelter for those affected by the violent storms today in Rome, Oneida County. 
 
The shelter, at the Aviation Center, is at 394 Hangar Road. Access to the shelter is through Gate 35. 
 
The Red Cross is providing a safe place to stay, water, and snacks. Anyone affected by the storm or feels unsafe in their home is welcome. The shelter is open 24 hours. 
 
HOW TO HELP 
The Red Cross relies on the generosity of local donors to help families prepare, respond and recover from disasters in Central and Northern New York. Please visit redcross.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS to donate to Disaster Relief and help people affected by disasters big and small.
