America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk seeks survivors to be the faces of the campaign

UTICA, N.Y., August 22, 2025 – The American Heart Association is seeking Red Cap Ambassadors to serve as the faces of heart disease and stroke during the 52nd anniversary of America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk, set for early March in Utica.

Named for the red baseball caps marked “survivor” that they wear at the Heart Run & Walk, Red Cap Ambassadors are people who live with heart disease and stroke. They share their stories to raise awareness and share knowledge about heart disease and stroke.

The first opportunity to share their stories will be in September, at the kickoff for America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk. There will also be media appearances and a chance for individual meetings throughout the campaign season, culminating in on-stage appearances at the March event.
