Sauquoit, NY – Lincoln Davies Building Supply (LDBS), a fifth-generation family-owned business, is thrilled to announce the opening of its second location at 11847 Woodhull Road in Forestport, New York. The new store comes with the acquisition of C & R Hardware, a staple in the Forestport community for the past 46 years.
With over 150 years of experience in hardware and building supplies, the team at LDBS, led by owner Ed Jones, is excited to extend its renowned products and services to Forestport and its surrounding communities. “We are very optimistic about the new location opening in Forestport, with the loyal customers and the new plans we have for up there,” said Jones. “The new location fits our culture perfectly, and we welcome the opportunity to serve our neighbors up north.”
Store Overview and Expanded Services
The Forestport store boasts a 6,000-square-foot hardware retail space, as well as a 9,000-square-foot building supply facility. Customers will find a wide range of products, including plumbing, electrical, paint, automotive, and lawn & garden supplies.
But LDBS is going beyond traditional hardware offerings with expanded services, such as:
- Estimating Services for project materials, including residential homes, decks, additions, siding, roofing, windows, and doors.
- Complete Material Lists to simplify planning and ensure project readiness.
- Kitchen and Bath Design Services, already available at the Sauquoit location, with plans for a new Kitchen and Bath Design Showroom on Clinton Road in New Hartford in May 2025.
Deliveries will also be available to customers across the North Country, making project planning and execution even more convenient.
Local Talent, Local Focus
LDBS is committed to building upon the legacy of C & R Hardware by retaining four of its employees, with former employee Emily O’Brien Egnew taking the lead as store manager. This local knowledge and expertise ensure that the Forestport location continues to meet the unique needs of the community.

Over the past year, LDBS has hired two designers, an outside salesperson, and a driver, alongside significant investments in new equipment to support this expansion.
