The Mohawk Valley Community College School of Art will present the musical “Be More Chill” Thursday-Saturday, March 6-8, in Schafer Theater, located within Francis A. Wilcox Hall at MVCC’s Utica Campus. Show times are 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $5 general, $2 for MVCC employees, and free for MVCC students, and tickets are available for purchase at www.mvcc.edu/tickets.
“Be More Chill,” written by Joe Tracz with music and lyrics by Joe Iconis, is based on the novel of the same name by Ned Vizzini. It tells the story of Jeremy Heere, an average teenager who finds out about “The Squip,” a tiny supercomputer that promises to bring him everything he desires most: a date with Christine, an invite to the raddest party of the year and a chance to survive life in his suburban New Jersey high school. But is being the most popular guy in school worth the risk?
The production is directed by MVCC Instructor Tennille Knoop and produced by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
