After moving to remote learning due to a holiday spike in COVID-19 cases, schools in the City School District of Albany will return to in-person instruction on Tuesday, though one prekindergarten classroom will stay with remote learning for a few more days, the district announced.
Due to remaining staff shortages, students in one pre-K classroom at New Scotland Elementary School will return to in-person learning on Thursday, the district said in a statement.
All students are asked to report positive results of at-home COVID-19 tests, including a photo of the positive result and their test kit, to their building principal and health services coordinator Suzanne McCarthy.
The quarantine timeline for prekindergarten students remains 10 days. The quarantine period for other school-age children and adults changed to five days.
The district will offer in-person COVID-19 testing each weekday at six district buildings.
