Kyrie Irving, who had been sitting out all season because he refused to get the COVID-19 vaccine, made his return to the basketball court this week despite staying firm on his stance, ESPN reports.
After the recent COVID-19 surge in the league forced many of players to sit out, the Nets decided to bring Irving back.
The NBA star was asked about his stance on the vaccine after playing in his first game back on Wednesday.
“Man, I’m just taking it one day at a time,” he said. “Like I said earlier in the season, it’s not an ideal situation and I’m always praying that things get figured out and we’re able to come to some collective agreement, whether it be with the league or it’s just things that’s going on that could help kind of ease what we’re all dealing with COVID-19 and the vaccine.”
