We’ve known this was going to be the case for a while, considering the format of the Survivor Series pay-per-view, but WWE went ahead and made the actual match-ups official for the upcoming show on Nov. 21, 2021, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Oh yes, folks, we are indeed getting Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair.
Just weeks after a title exchange segment on Friday Night SmackDown that saw Flair apparently go into business for herself, or at least go off script, leading to a backstage confrontation between the two champions, we’ll be getting an honest to goodness match pitting the two against each other. It’s the first opportunity for WWE to capitalize on the controversy and the powers that be are surely excited to have it fall into their laps.
I know I, as a consumer of the product, am awfully excited to see how it plays out. After all, the main point of contention seemed to be Flair’s concern with being made to look lesser in a simple segment where they traded titles — I wonder how things will go when it comes time to decide who will win a match between the two?
Don’t sleep on the other champion vs. champion match that went official as well, as Universal Champion Roman Reigns will take on WWE Champion Big E. Any excuse to fire up the feud between The Bloodline and The New Day is one we’ll take.
