The Utica Writers Club would like to invite all Utica area writers to their monthly meetings. For the next six months, meetings will be held via Zoom, allowing those who are from Utica but moved away, are traveling, or are away for school or work to participate. The Utica Writers Club welcomes writers of all genres and all types of writing.
Meetings begin with discussion, allowing each participant to discuss issues that have come in their writing, their writing process, or what they hope to get out of the group meeting. Following discussion, each participant who wishes to read is invited to share something they have written. Other members of the group may offer commentary or suggestions, if the writer wishes.
No writer is ever pressured to read anything they are not ready to share, and there are no restrictions on subject matter, though participants should be aware that others may be physically located in homes with children or other family members, or in an office where their co-workers may be present. Participants may join via phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer. If you are not comfortable spending the entire meeting on camera, you are welcome to angle your camera away from you and use only your speakers and microphone to participate.
