On Sunday, September 27th, at 2:00 p.m. Art Zimmer Productions will celebrate the 71st
anniversary of the Chocolate Train Wreck in the Village of Hamilton. The event will start at the
large billboard of the wreck next to the Hamilton Fire Station on Lebanon Street. Meet your
historian guide at the billboard. After a short talk about the chocolate train wreck, walk the short
1,000 feet down the trail to the remains of the wreck site. There will be Q and A on how it all
happened. It is the story of a 213-ton train that flew further than the Wright Brother’s first flight
loaded with Nestle’s Chocolate. There is no charge for this event.
Location to meet at 2:00 p.m. – from the main traffic light in the center of Hamilton, proceed south on Lebanon Street for
1/8 mile. At fire station on left, pull into the parking lot. In the far left corner of the parking lot is a large billboard about
the chocolate train wreck. Meet your historian guide at the billboard. After a short talk about the chocolate train wreck,
walk the short 500 feet down the trail to the remains of the wreck site. There will be Q and A on how it all happened.
