Five schools in the Syracuse City School District are switching to virtual learning this week, according to an announcement by the district superintendent Monday.
Clary Middle School, Dr. Weeks Elementary School, Ed Smith K-8 School, Frazer Middle School and Seymour Dual Language Academy will each be making the switch for the rest of the week due to staffing shortages.
“We hope that we will be able to address the staffing needs in those buildings and we will be able to reopen those schools again next Monday,” said SCSD Superintendent Jaime Alicea.
Acording to Alicea, the entire district was remote Monday because 250 staff members called out, and there were only 50 substitutes available.
