UZ Hosts Numerous 2026 Spring Events for Community

This winter has been long, but Utica Zoo is ready to welcome the 2026 spring season with a
lineup of exciting and dynamic events for the whole community to get out and enjoy! These
activities provided by the zoo strengthen their mission by encouraging friends and family to
connect with wildlife and gain valuable conservation education.

Their lineup of 2026 spring events are as follows:

 READY, SET, SPRING! on Friday, March 20 th from 10:00am-4:30pm. Celebrate the first
day of Spring and the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Ambassador
animal appearances, spring keeper talks, seed bomb makings, spring
story times, and multiple food trucks with refreshing treats. Full schedule

 Ostrich Egg Paint & Sip on Saturday, March 28 th from 1:00pm to
3:00pm. Painting Wild joins Utica Zoo inside their visitor center to
instruct individuals of any age to make a spring-time
masterpiece on a real ostrich egg. Registration can be found at uticazoo.org/events

 

 NIGHT PROWL on Thursday, April 2 nd from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Receive a guided tour
by education staff of the zoo’s Backyard & Barnyards under the pink
moon! More information and registration can be found at

 EGGSTRAVAGANZA on Saturday, April 4 th from 10:00am to
3:00pm. This signature event is all about the egg, featuring free photos
with the Easter bunny, games and activity stations, egg-related keeper talks, multiple
retail vendors and food trucks, and so much more! Event cards are at 20% off until March 21 st ! Information regarding this event and pre-registration can be found at

 BLOOMING APRIL BREAK ZOO CAMPS on Friday, April 3 rd and Monday, April 6 th
through Friday, April 10 th from 9:00am to 4:00pm each day. Topics like
Pollinator Power and hands-on activities surrounded by wildlife inspire
students in K-5 th to become the next generation of conservation warriors.

 POKEMON-GO COMMUNITY DAY on Sunday, April 11 th from
2:00pm to 4:30pm. Join the Pokemon-Go community by catching
them all on zoo grounds! More information can be found at

The Utica Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is the Best of
Mohawk Valley Community Choice Award Winner for 2025. It is a regional destination that
inspires and promotes the appreciation of wildlife through education, conservation, and
recreation. Situated in the heart of Central New York, the zoo features a diverse collection of animals from around the world and offers various educational programs and events for visitors of all ages. It is home to approximately 200 exotic and domestic animals, welcoming nearly 100,000 visitors annually and is open daily from 10 am to 4:30 pm 363 days a year, with only the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
