231 new COVID-19 cases reported in Albany County

Albany County Executive Dan McCoy is reporting 231 new COVID-19 cases.

Currently, there are 51 residents in the hospital with five in the ICU, according to McCoy.

McCoy says the decrease in new cases is likely due to some testing sites being closed during Christmas. He says people still need to remain cautious.

On Friday, the state set a new record with 44,431 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours.
