Utica First Responders Appreciation Day Set for Oct. 28 at Ocean Blue

UTICA, N.Y. First Responders Appreciation Day will bring breakfast and recognition to Utica on Wednesday, Oct. 28, as Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon and AAA Northeast honor local first responders.

The event is set for 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Ocean Blue Restaurant & Oyster Bar in the Landmark Building, 118 Columbia St. The morning will include light breakfast and refreshments for all first responders, according to an advisory from Buttenschon’s office.

Recognizing service beyond the call of duty

First responders nominated by their departments will receive recognition from the New York State Assembly for outstanding service beyond the call of duty.

The program also includes the presentation of a state legislative resolution recognizing Oct. 28 as First Responders Day in New York, according to the press advisory.

Organizers say the event will honor not only work during emergencies, but also the everyday acts of kindness and service that help keep Mohawk Valley communities safe.
