Moral Integrity Matters

By C. Gehrig

Today I had the misfortune of seeing clips from an interview with the former president and current candidate and Bloomberg news. He was asked if he would commit to a peaceful transfer of power. He did answer the question but did so by declaring that the 2021 transfer was peaceful. The interviewer literally scoffed.

I don’t know about you, but that’s not what I remember.

There have been many examples of his outright lying to the American people but this Interview followed by a townhall with Univision really take the cake.

I have witnessed Republican politicians and newspapers of record twist themselves into pretzels to sane wash what Trump says. How do you sane wash a blatant lie;  you lie some more.

As a first grade teacher I saw even my little ones know the importance of telling the truth and not to demean others. The truth was central to all our interactions.

Don’t fall for their tactics

If you like me read 1984 in high school, you probably remember a few of the many now famous quotes. this one stays with me

“The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command”

Don’t fall for their tactics. Morality and integrity count. That is why I’m voting for Harris/Walz, Mannion, Meyers and Buttenschon to ensure their swearing in. Early voting begins October 26th, Election day is November 5th
