Motorcycle Rides Support Local Veterans Outreach Center

The Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club collaborated with the Central NY Veterans Center for their 3rd annual fundraiser.

Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon greeted the riders at the Harley Davidson store in New York Mills. U’nice Elliot-Jefferson, President of Mohawk Valley Frontiers, and throngs of motorcycle enthusiasts rode with the Buffalo Soldiers, Outlaws, and Shoguns motorcycle clubs through Oneida County to the American Legion Post. Shawn Smith, a semifinalist on the Voice, and several local musicians provided live entertainment.

President Mark Pratt and Larry Hasse, both military veterans, rode to support all the soldiers who put their lives on the line to protect our freedom and civil liberties. Central NY Veterans Outreach manager and staff provided information on suicide prevention, wellness checks, food
pantry and housing referrals. Both organizations received generous checks from Harley Davidson to further their programs. Past CNY Rotary President, the Reverend Dr. Mary Webster offered a blessing for the riders, and the New Hartford American Legion Honor Guard provided
a 21-gun salute to memorialize the occasion. The proceeds from the fundraiser and grants will go a long way to help veterans access services from the Central NY Veterans Outreach, which recently made some renovations in the recently acquired former YWCA building, creating additional office space to accommodate more programs for staffers and veterans.
