Rome Police Media Release 231 East Dominick Street/ 504 Wellesley Road
On Thursday, July 25th, 2024, the Rome Police Departments Detective Division executed search warrants at the residences located at 231 East Dominick Street and 504 Wellesley Road subsequent to an ongoing investigation. As a result, three handguns, four long guns, two high-capacity magazines, and a quantity of ammunition were recovered in total.

At 231 East Dominick Street, a loaded .22 caliber handgun, loaded .380 caliber defaced handgun, and .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle were located. 35-year-old Shamar Williams of 231 East Dominick Street was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (2 Counts), Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (3 Counts), and Criminal Possession of a Firearm (2 Counts).
At 504 Wellesley Road, a loaded 9mm handgun, .223 caliber semi-automatic rifle, 12-gauge pump action shotgun, .22 caliber rifle, and two high-capacity magazines were located. 20-year-old De’Antae N. Jones of 504 Wellesley Road was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (2 Counts) and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.

The Detective Division was assisted by the Rome Police Department Special Response Team, Utica Metro Swat Team, Rome Police Special Investigations Unit, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, Utica Police Special Investigations Unit, and the New York State Police Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team.
The investigation is ongoing and other charges may be pending.
