Albany County continues to report high COVID numbers

The COVID death toll continues to rise in Albany County. Officials are reporting three new deaths Monday. The death toll has now risen to 490, and 498 new cases have been identified since Sunday.

Hospitalizations remain high with 116 patients; 14 of those patients are in the ICU.

County Executive Dan McCoy is encouraging people to get their vaccine and the booster.

If you want to get the vaccine, doses are available at the Albany County Health Department at 175 Green Street. The clinic there is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Aside from Wednesday, appointments are required. You can also get the shot at the state run vaccine facility at Crossgates Mall in the old Lord and Taylor store.

Anyone who tests positive after taking an at-home COVID test is urged to report the results on the county’s website.
